Asking Qenot, and research reports

Ask anything about your material and get answers with their sources; go deeper with a cited research report.

There are three places to ask: Chat in the sidebar (across everything you've added), each topic's chat, and each course's Course AI. The Ask Qenot button opens a chat beside your reading, study material or exam report.

Ask well

  • Ask it to quiz you rather than explain: “Quiz me on lecture 4, one question at a time.”
  • Choose Quick or Detailed under the message box.
  • The + button adds photos and files, turns on web search, or starts research.
  • Use the microphone to ask out loud.

Research reports

Choose Research from the + menu and ask a question. Qenot searches the web, academic sources first, reads about a dozen pages, and writes a cited report saved to a topic, so you can make flashcards from it like any other source.

Common questions

Where do the answers come from?

From your own sources first. Each answer lists the passages it used, with their pages. Turn on Search the web in the + menu to include the internet.

What's the difference between Quick and Detailed?

Quick gives a short, direct answer. Detailed reads more of your sources and writes a fuller answer; it takes longer and uses more of your allowance.

Who can use Research?

Research reports are part of the Student and Researcher plans.
